I’d like to welcome Marie Tuhart, author of Master Cole to
my blog today.
MT: I live in the Pacific
Northwest, about forty miles south of Seattle Washington. I’m single, and my
constant companion is also my muse, and that’s my four-pound toy Poodle Penny.
RW: How many hours a day do
you spend writing?
MT: Two to three hours a
day, except Sundays that’s my day off.
RW: How much does reader
feedback matter to you? Do your fans’ comments and letters influence you in any
way? Do you have a favorite comment or question from a reader?
MT: I love reader feedback.
I want to know if my books make a difference to readers and their opinions. My
favorite comment was from a reader who read Roped & Ready, she’d been in a
bad relationship but after reading the book, she could see how things could be
better. It made me smile and cry at the same time.
RW: Would you like to write a different genre or
sub-genre than you do now?
MT: I want to write some paranormal. I have some
ideas that I’ve played with, but I haven’t had time to write them
RW: Generally, how long does it take you to write a
book? Do you have a set schedule for writing or do you just go with the flow?
MT: It really depends on the book and what is going
on at the time. I do set a schedule, but most of the time it goes out the window
within a week. A lot of the time I go with the flow. Plus I have to be aware of
when edits are coming in and sometimes I have to jump on those rather than
writing a new book
RW: How many books have you written, how many have
been published?
MT: I’ve written twenty books, and fourteen of them
have been published.
RW: Which comes first, the story, the characters,
or the setting?
MT: My characters come first, they usually start as
an inkling in the back of my brain. If I’m really lucky one starts talking to
me, and the story goes from there.
RW: Are you in control of your characters or do
they control you?
MT: LOL—they totally control me. Usually by the
time I’ve written about twenty-thousand words, my characters are talking to me
and telling me their story. And trust me—if I don’t write it their way, they
stop talking and I’m in trouble.
RW: What do you do to relax and recharge your
batteries?
MT: I read and play online games. It really helps
me relax.
RW: If you came with a warning label, what would it
say?
MT: Warning contents are not as they appear.
Master Cole
The
Plot
Janie Murphy’s glimpse
inside of lifelong friend Cole Daniels’ special playroom has her intrigued,
even if she has no physical experience with such wild pleasures. She only knows
she’s been attracted to him for years and yearns for a relationship between
them—and she’s not afraid to try a little kink.
Dominant Cole Daniels
never imagined he’d find himself in the position of dragging a very grown-up
and very attractive Janie out of a BDSM club. And when she challenges him to be
the one to teach her the joys of the wilder side of intimacy or allow someone else
the sheer pleasure of initiating her, he can’t resist.
As Janie begins to fall
in love, witnessing a true power exchange causes her the painful realization
that touching Cole’s heart is beyond her dreams.
When Janie leaves him,
can Cole open his heart to the woman he truly loves? And will she be willing to
handle all of Cole?
An
Excerpt:
Two long, frustrating
months of living with Cole as if they were nothing more than friends. It was
all going to end tonight. Bad or good, it had to end. “Look, I know you
promised your dad to look after me, but I’m old enough to make my own
decisions.”
“I never said you weren’t
old enough.”
“Then quit treating me
like a child! I’m a woman, and I have needs.”
He choked on his drink,
and Janie covered her grin with her hand. She wasn’t going to pull her punches
tonight. “I’m going to explore my sexuality with or without your help.” She
really wanted him, but if he couldn’t see her as an adult, she’d find another
Dom who would.
“What does that mean?”
He scowled at her.
Janie downed the rest
of her drink and set her glass on the bar. “It means I’m going to make my own
decisions about sex and kink and how I experience them.” She lifted her chin
and stared at him. “Now it’s your turn to decide if you’re going to teach me
what I want to know, or do I go elsewhere?” Her heart clenched. She really
wanted to learn from Cole, but she wasn’t going to wait forever. Janie turned
and left the room.
